Located in the heart of the tech world in Silicon Valley, Coding House is a 60 day full immersion bootcamp. One of the few “live-in bootcamps,” Coding House teaches full stack web development with a focus on JavaScript technologies and Rails.
We’re breaking down Coding House’s 100% Scholarship for Female Developers!
90% of software developers are men. One of the biggest reasons is schooling. Women earn just 18% of undergraduate degrees in computer science. Those are harrowing statistics! Coding House is looking to help change that by educating motivated, talented women seeking to learn coding by offering a full scholarship to one woman per cohort.
The scholarship covers the entirety of tuition to Coding House, a $16,800 value.
Submit your application to Coding House and make sure to select the option for the full ride scholarship on the Scholarships tab.
Next, make a website about yourself. The website can be created with any technologies, but modern JavaScript frameworks gets bonus points.
Then create a Tumblr post about why you should win the full ride scholarship. Optionally, applicants can also record and post a YouTube video explaining why they should win.
Tweet @codinghouse with a link to the Tumblr post, and email scholarship@codinghouse.co with links to the website and Tumblr post, and any other relevant information you want the judges to know.
The current contest is for the cohort starting August 16. The deadline to submit for the contest is June 15, 2015 at 1 pm PST
Each part of the application will be judged by a panel of experts on a scale of 1 to 10. The website and Tumblr post are each weighted at 50% of the contest and the optional YouTube video represents an additional 10%.
We love women. We love tech. We LOVE women in tech! This scholarship gives a full ride to a worthy woman so she can attend Coding House’s immersion program. Instead of deciding based on essays, the contest gives applicants a chance to show their technical ability while also providing insight into themselves. We can’t wait to see the great work that’s coming.
