Throughout my time at Code The Dream, the curriculum offered a perfect balance of theoretical learning and practical, hands-on projects that mirror real-world tech challenges. With readily available mentorship and a collaborative network of peers, I found that even the toughest coding hurdles were surmountable. The experience has been both empowering and eye-opening, proving that with the right support system, any barrier in tech can be overcome.

The UC Chico Production Bulletin System class is a great tool for all upcoming prod coders. The production unit series of courses (TFDP 173) provides instruction and felt like an effective boot camp for what I'm getting into with studio system coding.

My experience at Skill Switch was transformative. The bootcamp was easy to follow and understand. While it was self-paced and all online, they pushed me to follow the recommended timeline which was rewarding. It allowed me to work on meaningful projects, enhancing my portfolio with Python, Django, and AWS skills. The instructors were knowledgeable and supportive.

I am thoroughly impressed with my experience in the RapidAscent Cybersecurity program. As someone transitioning from a 23-year career in the military to the civilian cybersecurity field, I found the program to be exceptionally well-structured and tailored to address the needs of both beginners and experienced professionals.

The curriculum is comprehensive and dives deep into key areas like cybersecurity fundamentals, advanced concepts, and hands-on training that mirrors real-world scenarios. For example, I worked through challenging modules like Windows Privilege Escalation, which helped me solidify my practical knowledge while refining my ability to solve complex problems in high-pressure environments.

The program's focus on industry-relevant skills and certifications is outstanding. It provided me with invaluable preparation for certifications like Security+ and SSCP, both of which I achieved during the course. The hands-on labs and interactive sessions were instrumental in building my confidence and ensuring I’m not just book-smart but job-ready.

What really stands out about RapidAscent is the emphasis on mentorship and networking. The instructors and support staff are not only knowledgeable but genuinely invested in your success. They are always available to answer questions, clarify difficult concepts, and offer career guidance. The program’s structure encourages collaboration, and I appreciated how it helped me build connections with peers in the industry.

Overall, RapidAscent has been an integral part of my journey into cybersecurity. It has equipped me with the technical expertise and problem-solving skills needed to succeed in this fast-paced and ever-evolving field. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to break into cybersecurity or advance their career in this exciting domain.

I paid $2000 for this early on in the pandemic.  Everything was a bit chaotic, as they were moving all their programs fully online.  The teachers were fine, the material was solid as well.  It seems like a lot of sales training programs all draw from the same well.  But delivered all out of order, so I had to spend weeks and weeks waiting to get to the part that I was interested in - Salesforce.  We weren't a cohort so much as a hodgepodge, all of us at different points in the program.  Anyway, I was unable to get hired, but not for lack of trying or solid coaching.  I made a lot of cold calls, and took a lot of interviews, but it was all for naught.  My business re-opened and I had to go back to my old job anyway.  I would have liked to keep some of the course materials, and my interview tracking sheet, but they deleted my account without asking or notifying me so, that was a bit lame.  

After spending five weeks in the Capslock cybersecurity course, I have mixed feelings about the experience. 

On the positive side, the team-based learning approach seems to work well for many students, with around 75% of graduates reportedly finding jobs within six months of finishing the course. The course also provides access to valuable resources such as RangeForce and O'Reilly, and the people at Capslock are generally friendly and helpful. 
Additionally, the course offers a cybersecurity practitioner certification, which could be useful for some learners.

However, there are several drawbacks to the course that I feel potential students should be aware of. Despite being advertised as "live classes," the actual instruction time is minimal. Instead, most of the learning takes place within teams, with students researching topics and creating PowerPoints on their own.

Unfortunately, many of the course tutors are past students with limited knowledge and experience in cybersecurity. I found that I was often left to solve problems and answer questions on my own, even during "live" class sessions. Furthermore, some of the security measures used by Capslock seem to be amateurish and easily bypassed, raising concerns about the quality of instruction and the safety of student data.

Ultimately, while Capslock may work well for some students, I would caution anyone who is truly passionate about cybersecurity against taking this course. The cost is high, and much of the learning seems to take place outside of class time, with little support from instructors. I personally feel that I could have learned more on my own with the same amount of time and effort. 

As it stands, I have left the course due to what I consider to be an overreaction on the part of Capslock, ( They left a hyperlink to their intranet on a banner and when I clicked on it they accused me of being unethical and gaining unauthorised access). 

Luckily I was offered a full refund if I leave so I took that.

Great feeling when it's done, how these challenges shape your way of thinking to solve different problems. Engaging in these exercises not only sharpens your problem-solving skills but also instils a sense of accomplishment. The structured approach to tackling diverse challenges each week broadens your perspective and enhances your adaptability. It's amazing to see how each challenge contributes to personal growth, fostering creativity and resilience. Overall, it's an enriching experience that not only improves technical prowess but also moulds you into a more resourceful and confident individual.

It's been a very long time since i wanted to learn programming, but life never goes as planned. Loads of years later, the moment arrived: I was very upset with my past job and decided to leave. "-It's now or never!"

I learnt so much in this course. As a career changer i wanted to learn full stack software development, get hands on experience and become career ready. This course helped me to achieve that. I am currently working as a junior software developer.

This course helped me to be prepare for work in the industry. I got experience in all parts of software development lifecycle. I got support with my CV and interview which helped me to land my first role. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone who is a career changer like myself or a career starter or looking to update their knowledge with the latest tech in software development. 

Important tips for new starters: 
- Make sure you read your course materials including the extra bits, 
- Prepare your questions before online classes (the teachers are very good with answering your questions and giving real life examples), 
- Learn how to research software issues (this course will teach you how to approach any error you could possibly have, basic principles, what steps to take, hugely important in career)
- Finally make sure you enrol!

My Shillington experience was incredible. Every day working on new challenging briefs that taught me specific skills I needed to be a graphic designer but while learning in a way that is identical to what I encounter now, Skills that I use day in and day out I really wouldn't be where I am today without it. The format of morning lectures and group work on the stuff after lunch is really helpful to get into the topics and collaborate on them, so you daily learned twice.
