Devmountain is a coding bootcamp that offers short, full-time in-person and online programs in Web Development, Software Quality Assurance (QA), Cybersecurity, and User Experience (UX) Design. The programs are designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in the tech industry. There is a Devmountain campus in Lehi, Utah for those who want to participate in-person. Devmountain's immersive courses require 40 hours of class per week, and 10-20 hours of work outside of the classroom. The part-time programs require 11 hours of class per week, and 10-20 hours of work outside of the classroom. The school was started in 2013 in Provo, Utah.

The Web Development track covers front-end and back-end engineering (JavaScript, HTML/CSS, AJAX, Axios, React, Bootstrap, Node.js, Express, and PostgreSQL). The User Experience course covers prototyping, visual/motion design, Figma, UX research, and  wireframing. Devmountain instructors are all coding industry professionals and aim to bring real-world applications into the classroom.

Devmountain is beginner-friendly and no experience is necessary to apply. The first step to applying for Devmountain bootcamp is to check out the courses and start dates. Once the student has picked a course, they must submit an online application. Next, students speak with a member of the admissions team by phone to further discuss the program. After the phone call, students must complete a challenge to ensure the program is a good fit. Finally, the admissions team will notify students if they qualify for acceptance.

    Exceptional Learning Experience at Devmountain

Devmountain's amazing culture, supportive instructors, and encouraging Outcomes Team made it an invaluable journey of growth. I learned to embrace failures and push through imposter syndrome to take action sooner.

    A place to build

My experience has been a good one. Especially on Dev mountain boot camp. It is beginner friendly in terms of price and it is a good place to start and build one's career as time goes on. I believe learning is lifelong endeavor and here I believe one will get that.

Thank you so much for taking a moment to reflect on your experience at Devmountain. Accessibility in terms of pricing and curriculum are two cornerstones of our bootcamps, yet we also aim to teach a range of skills to help graduates pursue an entry-level career. You are exactly right about learning being a lifelong endeavor, and that's especially true for tech professionals. Good communications, problem-solving ability, collaboration—these are all characteristics that can be developed in bootcamp and contribute to lifelong learning. We hope you continue to build on your foundations and grow in your career.

    Don't Consider Devmountain Cybersecurity

I think Devmoutain could be great for people who want to go into a programming-related field, but I want to go into Cybersecurity and their model does not fit that very well. Entry-level Cybersecurity jobs are looking for a lot of network/IT knowledge/experience. Foundations (the first 8-weeks) is focused on programming so it doesn't help much at all with entry-level jobs (Devmountain argues that knowledge will help with career advancement but I can't advance a career I don't have so I f...

We appreciate your thoughtfulness in crafting this review about our Cybersecurity program. And thank you for attending a Devmountain bootcamp! It is true, we emphasize our Foundations portion to better equip students with a deeper tech stack as they pursue a career in tech. While the Specialization portion does deploy a different learning structure, we aim to provide ongoing access to instructional staff and continued accountability measures alongside the career support of our Outcomes team to help learners and graduates navigate the job market. All that said, we greatly appreciate feedback like yours to help us continually improve and further fine-tune our curricula, instruction, or overall experience and hope that time and persistence have aided in your job search. If you wish to continue the conversation, please reach out through your existing contacts with us or start a new one at marketing@devmountain.com.

    hands-on useful

Very good. I had some previous experience going into Devmountain (few years at University for CS degree). Devmountain gave me the tools to to create my personal projects. From my experience, these projects helped me get my first job. It took a lot of work but I am happy I attended the bootcamp.

My experience with the first half of the course was great.  The instructors were knowledgeable and they fostered a collaborative environment despite the fact that some students were remote and others attended the class in person.  However, if you decide to pursue a DevMountain Bootcamp education, please speak with multiple former students about their experience.  Many graduates have DevMountain on their LinkedIn profile and would be happy to chat with a...

    Software QA

Completed the part time software QA bootcamp and it was overall a great experience! Landed a job a couple months afterwards. Only thing I felt was missing would be maybe some mobile app testing. The Outcomes team that every student has access to is fantastic. Lots of help with resume building and interview prep. Definitely sets you up for success as long as you are driven and put in the work.

    UI/UX Design After Hours

The UX course is a 16-week (part-time) program that prepares you for entry-level work in the field of UX Design. In the UX design bootcamp, you’ll learn about research, prototyping, information architecture, and how to design websites and applications.

The course is very beginner so it's great for those just getting started. The outcomes team is phenomenal! I've learned more working with them than the whole bootcamp!

    Better Bootcamps Out There

Overall, this program does not foster an inclusive environment. Very few people of color in my cohort. There are bootcamps out there better geared to support people of color and women pursuing engineering. Staff does very little to address concerns regarding toxic environment, inappropriate behavior, discriminatory remarks, made towards women, women of color, and people of color. Lots of bro-grammers in my cohort. A big deal is made about keeping your camera on. Sometimes women and peopl...

    Complete and utter garbage.

Honestly, just trust me on this, do. not. waste. your. time.  The curriculum they also send over to you, is, well, not real. They don't teach any of it, in the order they claim.  TLDR, the syllabus/course material before you sign-up is baloney.  The entire specialization course is 100% self-study in which you use Udemy, and Pluralsight resources. Pluralsight costs $299 for the year while you're paying $9900 fo...
