Devmountain is a coding bootcamp that offers short, full-time in-person and online programs in Web Development, Software Quality Assurance (QA), Cybersecurity, and User Experience (UX) Design. The programs are designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in the tech industry. There is a Devmountain campus in Lehi, Utah for those who want to participate in-person. Devmountain's immersive courses require 40 hours of class per week, and 10-20 hours of work outside of the classroom. The part-time programs require 11 hours of class per week, and 10-20 hours of work outside of the classroom. The school was started in 2013 in Provo, Utah.

The Web Development track covers front-end and back-end engineering (JavaScript, HTML/CSS, AJAX, Axios, React, Bootstrap, Node.js, Express, and PostgreSQL). The User Experience course covers prototyping, visual/motion design, Figma, UX research, and  wireframing. Devmountain instructors are all coding industry professionals and aim to bring real-world applications into the classroom.

Devmountain is beginner-friendly and no experience is necessary to apply. The first step to applying for Devmountain bootcamp is to check out the courses and start dates. Once the student has picked a course, they must submit an online application. Next, students speak with a member of the admissions team by phone to further discuss the program. After the phone call, students must complete a challenge to ensure the program is a good fit. Finally, the admissions team will notify students if they qualify for acceptance.

    Excellent and Useful

I'm so grateful for this course. By the end of it I feel much more confident in my abilities to get a job and to create a full website for future clients. I would tell anyone to take this course!

    Difficult but doable, with fun

A lot going on here, but it's all important. No unnecessary fluff, just coding and building websites/apps, with any necessary theory/algorithm discussions included. The Instructors I was taught by were both competent and helpful. I haven't gotten a job yet, but their job-searching lectures were all very informative, and hopefully the strategies pay off.

    Challenging, Rewarding, Fun

I was nervous to begin this bootcamp because I had absolutely zero experience with coding before it. The material was good but I felt like it could have been more thorough and in depth. Then again, that is the way the cookie crumbles in bootcamps. There wasn't as much take home homework the first half of the program that I was expecting and I didn't learn from the given video material the second half.

    Not Worth It For Cybersecurity

My experience was specifically in the cybersecurity program and I would highly recommend avoiding Devmountain for this course of study. The first 8 weeks is focused on Foundations which is a very basic overview of full stack development. The instructors were awesome and I came away feeling like, with more practice, I could easily program in HTML and JavaScript. Then I started my 8 week spec course specializing in cybersecurity and that is where the wheels came off. There is next to no su...

    Great Experience

I had a great experience with the Dev Mountain Web Development camp. The curriculum covers a lot of material and move pretty fast, but wasn't un manageable at any point. There was also plenty of opportunity to put in some extra work to be able to get a better grasp on the curriculum as well as learn some additional content. The second portion of the course is more loosely structured which helps to develop the skills for learning new technologies on your own which is critical to succeed i...

Not all it's cracked up to be!

I came into devmountain with an understanding of web development from self learning. The first half of the curriculum was insightful but a mash up of skills spanning multiple careers as well as information I had already learned on my own. It was nice to gain an understanding of the job requirements of the fields around mine but it didn't necessarily make me a better developer.

The second half of the full time course was frustrating to say the least. They just give you a subscript...

Great course with post graduation resources

After pounding my head against the proverbial wall in college trying to get a computer science degree I finally switched went to a web dev boot camp. The college I was attending had a good CS degree but that degree had almost nothing for web development. I went to DevMountain and loved it. The instructors were good and so was the curriculum. One of the things I liked most from the curriculum was that they tried to do more than just teach the language that they use but also to teach stude...

    UX Design After Hours

Had a great experience going through the after hours UX program at Devmountain in Lehi. Being on campus was great, but halfway through the program we switched to remote learning due to COVID-19. The organization was able to pivot really quickly to help deliver a great experience nonetheless. I think that speaks a lot to them as an organization and both their ability to instruct and their care for students and their needs.

I believe the instructors are incredibly inexperienced in how to teach individuals. They may know the subject, but teaching that subject to others is a whole different skill all together. They need quality instructors if they expect to teach a very technical subject in a VERY short period of time.

Stay away. Used to be good but not anymore

Stay away!!! DevMountain is now a company that offers very little at great cost. They are always cutting corners and costs to save on an already highly profitable business at the expense of student learning. I would not recommend it to anyone at this point. I attended DevMountain When it was in Provo and mentored when they moved to Lehi. DevMountain was fantastic when I attended. And back then I would have and did recommend it to everyone but it went down hill really quickly after the sh...
