Microverse

before I joined microverse I didn't have any experience in programming and I never worked remotely before, some of my friends told me that I will never succeed in the journey cause they didn't know how microverse work,  after joining Microverse I learned how to communicate with different people from different countries with different culture and background, I learned how to use the different framework and different languages. one good thing is that I succeed in my journey with Microverse.

The program has been great, no doubt it's so far the best online BootCamp I have come across. Before microverse, I tried self-learning but it was not easy, accountability is expensive, luckily microverse gives you that for free. NOW LETS SEE THE PROS;
-Holds you accountable
- Project-based learning
- So many professional skills(I bet most self-learners can not even use GitHub well, but microverse will make you see GitHub differently in no time, let alone LinkedIn/Angelist e.t.c)
- Experience working with teams in a remote setting, including remote pair-programming
- No upfront fees... you pay zero dollars till you land a job that pays atleast 1000usd(lets just call it free)
-Despite having many students to attend to, microverse is doing a great job attending each student at the right time.
- and many more pros, obviously I won't list them all..but those are the main ones.
BELOW ARE THE CONS;
- Not beginner-friendly, the program is designed to fit people with at least some prior experience, there is less room for being new, much more because it's project-based, and it has deadlines. That being said though, it's not impossible, I started not knowing anything too but here I am just finishing the 3rd module(react/redux), you might repeat a few weeks here and there but with persistence, you'll move.
- Studying materials and very insufficient, that say from the beginning that microverse has no teacher, they provide some materials but of course, it's not always enough, you'll eventually find yourself using other materials more(this will also teach you how to learn on your own)

CONCLUSION
- you won't find anything as good as this online, at least for now.
- I might have not written properly and skipped many pros, but trust me they overweigh the few cons..it's A platform I wish I knew about earlier.

It has been a challenging process but rewarding, the are some things that can be better but in general, the staff and the content are great the things I don't like are primarily that the is no consistency in the code reviews, some of the code reviewers are great but some others no that much. The content and the way each lesson is presented I like and also the opportunity to practice my English on a daily basis with people around all the world is a big plus. There are some soft skills lessons some of them are very useful but sometimes it can feel repetitive the subjects they present. In general, I would recommend it.

 My experience so far is one of pride that I have been able to be a part of Microverse as a student. The dedication and hard work that has been put into my 6 months so far has allowed me to succeed in many ways, as well as increasing my self-development skills. Microverse is a great place to study, and I would suggest it to anyone. I love everything about microverse, their daily schedule makes us dive into a software development experience. The peer-to-peer programming gives us a great opportunity to connect with a lot of people from the same area.
Each day is a growing day, and it has been amazing.

To be honest, without Microverse, I would have still been thinking about what stack should I learn I swear because that’s how I was before. But eventually, I got the right direction towards my career. Below are the Pros after joining the Microverse school:

- Microverse provides the all resources to learn and master the content as well as concept.

- Microverse set and provide the real-world projects in order to implement what you have learned as well as gaining more experience.

- Their learning methodology at Microverse is excellent compared to other schools, for instance, to assign you with a code partner to learn and implement the project.

-They always count or check on your move in the program to find the best solution for you to achieve your goals in this career.

- They calculate your score per week for each student, making the students work hard with their all energy to master the content.

- Microverse provides the students with opportunities to part-time jobs while they are in the program for students with the high score and code quality.

- I can't forget their effective communication between the students and the Microverse staff.

- They always plan or schedule a meeting every month with all students (student Assembly) to share their thought with Microverse staff.

- Pair programming, innovative way learning, very good structure and awesome model.

- Innovative way of teaching, professional career coaches, goal alignment with student,and no upfront cost.


For me, no cons found yet unless to add a new courses and projects.

Honestly speaking, I have been learning programming for more than 14 years. I have not come across a program that is this all encompassing. From the methods of delivery to the curriculum and the community, It all has been a blessing to me. I love the morning sessions with fellow micronauts. Being able to interact and solve challenges together make it something to look forward to. Code reviewer are honest to let you know you are on the right path and you need to do more work. This is something that is missing even at EDX. Students need not just materials but they need support and guidance. Also, professional skill are invaluable resources for me as it not only builds me up in character for the work place but also in my relationship with my family. The only thing that i would like them to add to the program is more time for group algorithm and data structure challenges.

I have been in programs where they are only after certification without building ones experience and know-how but his program is the other way round. They want you to build experience and know-how that is useful in the work place you will find yourself. With real life projects.  

I am sparked to publish this self-experience article with an intent to reach out to many potential web developers and software programmers out there who are bound by financial and geographical limitations. I am a student at Microverse and would like to share my wonderful experience.
Microverse is an online program that trains students to become full-stack web developers. It is a mastery learning program with industry-standard projects, tools, and evaluations. There are a lot of impressive things at Microverse.

• It is a very organized learning platform with very objective documentations. It has a student-centered learning system with strict follow-up, guidance, and mastery-level project approval.
• Projects, tools, and evaluations are industry standard with strict best practices requirements.
• It is also an Excellent platform for collaborative learning simulating the actual remote job collaborative workspace.
• Students enjoy some special privileges like PRO membership of GitHub.
• It creates an exceptional opportunity to make professional and social connections.
• A great program to develop important professional skills and traits especially demanded in a collaborative work environment.
• Steep learning curve because of the well structured, dense, and representative materials and projects which are bound by the deadline.
• It is an ideal online platform for people around the world who don’t get the opportunity to become accomplished full-stack developers.

People might find Microverse not for their expectation due to some reasons like :

• An optional part-time program would be a good choice for many who can’t afford full-time.
• For students who enjoy a less stressed and relaxed environment, it may be ineffective as it is not like other online learning platforms.

To sum up, I found Microverse full of programming adventure and satisfaction at the same time. The fact that Microverse doesn’t ask for any payment until graduates secure a job, is a pretty cool thing for many potential programmers with financial limitations. I would recommend anyone who dreams to be an accomplished full-stack developer without any reservation to join Microverse and witness his/her amazing transformation.

I have been totally impressed and incredibly satisfied with the well-structured and guided learning at Microverse.

Pros- A well-structured curriculum makes learning a lot easier and more fun- Very well researched and compiled references and material help firmly impart knowledge- Grouping and pair-programming concepts build team skills- Making friends and connections from all over the world- Self-discovery and development through a well-curated professional skills course- The concept of mastery learning removes the pressures caused by different learning speeds - An impressive career-coaching system Cons- The full-time course is a little financially difficult for students who are self-supporting since it is difficult to do anything else.- Reviews and skills evaluations could be better. Students can be allowed to progress before fully understanding the concepts.- Due to the random pairing, the group can only progress as fast as the slowest person. Let us not forget that every day in the program has a financial implication.

I started attending Microverse in June 2020. I was, and still am, NOT in a position to waste my time on something that wouldn't benefit me and help me grow as a developer. That means I can not waste a single minute in vain when it comes to education and career-related things. A lot of students in Microverse, including me, are from a different educational background. Speaking for myself, I have worked in multiple positions in the past, and in that process, I have learned to identify what is best for me and what is not. Accordingly, It has come to pass for me to know that Microverse is the best decision I have ever made so far. Let me state a few reasons: - 

1. Accountability. Most developers, self-thought or not, find it hard to follow a daily routine of learning. And those who find it easy may do it the WRONG way. I, for example, have built some websites and applications before Microverse. But I now realize there are a lot of things involved before and after building. Example: - Linting, TDD...
2. Imposter syndrome. The "I can't do it" mentality will go out the window once you see your peers create awesome apps and websites. You will realize that you can create something as good as what other Microverse students created, if not better. Example: - building a game.
3. Communication. In Microverse, you will communicate with a wide range of people with different perspectives and experiences. Pair-programming is one of the core principles in Microverse, so you will get the test of what remote work is. 
4. You will learn industry-standard development.

I can add more reasons, but to make an already long review short. Let me close this off by stating why I think it's not for everybody.Microverse is a work in progress (who isn't?), and not everything is a smooth ride. You will hate it if: - - You cannot communicate with coding partners and stand up team members.- You don’t like it when people comment on your code, albeit some of them might not be constructive.- You can’t dedicate 8 hours per day.- You don't have a good internet connection.- You hate reading or learning on your own when you have to. I find it funny when someone wants to be a developer and don’t want to learn, explore, google, dig around, debug things by themselves first. I think that is the best way of learning, and I believe even the best developers have to do that every now and then.Overall, it has been a great experience for me. I like the setting, Most of the courses, the people, and more.

When I was looking on the internet one day, I didn't expect to find Microverse, there were difficult times, without a job and free time, I had to do something, and then this advertising appears.

I postulate "because"; I thought my English level or my development skills wasn't enough to be approved, and this is the thing with Microverse: you don't need a high English level (B2 is enough) or an incredible TI background (you can find psychologist, lawyers, economist, etc.) you will need a good internet connection and desire to work.

I have not completed the curriculum, but: the statistics, the people who I talk to, and my own experience; this is enough to believe in this program on this project. 

Microverse teaches you more than just code: Microverse teaches you soft skills, gives you remote experience, helps you to find a job. You will see the effort they do to help you to complete the program and start to work.

Another aspect of Microverse is that you don't have to pay if you don't complete the program, if you are not currently working on a web development job or if your payment is less than USD 1000. 

So, there exist many good things that make me believe in Microverse and this experience. If you want to give it a try, you will love this.
