The teachers and staff are knowledgeable, supportive, and truly care about students’ success. The curriculum is well-structured, covering everything from Ruby and databases to JavaScript and front-end development.That said, the pace was extremely fast—sometimes too fast for me. I often felt like I was falling behind, and there wasn’t always enough time to fully absorb concepts before moving on to the next topic. I wish this could be a one-year program instead of nine weeks, as I think that would allow for deeper learning and more confidence in applying what we’ve learned.If you feel like some sort of genius, this bootcamp will probably be easy for you. But if you have learning difficulties like I do, it’s going to be hard—really hard. Be prepared to put in extra effort, ask a lot of questions, and sometimes feel overwhelmed.A few pieces of advice:- Do not overestimate the prep work—do it as many times as you can before the bootcamp starts.
- Do not do the bootcamp online if you have the choice—being in person makes a huge difference.
- Do not try to work a job while doing this bootcamp—it’s intense, and you will often go back home to finish assignments or simply try to understand what you just learned.
If you’re considering Le Wagon, I’d definitely recommend it, but be ready for an intense learning journey. It’s great if you thrive in a fast-paced environment, but if you need more time to digest complex topics, you might find it overwhelming.

Moreover, the on-site experience of the course has been crucial for me. I could not imagine it in any other format. The quality of the transmission of the contents, as well as the coexistence with the teaching team and the rest of my classmates, both in my course and those of WebDev and Data Analysis, would not have been of such a high level and would not have exceeded my expectations if it had not been in a face-to-face format. I highly recommend this formula. It feels like a summer camp and you feel it when you leave, but in this case you don't just take friends for life, you change your professional life forever. So, just be aware if you’re on a budget and would rather pay for Certification instead.

Another really fun thing about the course is the "CodeJam." It is an optional thing you can sign up for for free, and you can work alongside with other students at varying places in the course and create yet another website for your portfolio while gaining experience working alongside a team!

During the 17-week full-time program I experienced tremendous growth and was able to build much greater things than I expected. On the 17th week I was accepted into an internship and it's because of this bootcamp. During the full-time bootcamp it is up to you and how hard you are willing to apply yourself during this time. If you need to recharge, recharge. However, if you have free time, commit it to learning new technologies or improving existing skills. As I write this, I am now familiarizing myself with an entirely new codebase and beginning work with 40 other developers. The curriculum keeps you moving and lays an important foundation for new developers. Also, I would recommend Veronica as an instructor. If you're willing to work hard and you aren't just trying to "get by" - this bootcamp will be great for you.

I was extremely worried starting the program because I had a previous bad experience with another SE Bootcamp called FlatIron because they didn't actually teach you any lessons in the bootcamp and only offered minimum support for learning the concepts, so I wasn't sure what to expect going into Code Platoon's program. However, I had absolutely no reason to worry because Code Platoon is far superior to the other bootcamp and the staff genuinely care about their students and will put the time in to make sure you understand the topics and concepts. The instructors presented the lectures in ways that made it easy to follow and ask questions and if you didn't understand they'd break the concept down a different way to help make it clear. They always encouraged questions and class participation and were always available to offer assistance to students if you are struggling. I felt as though they really cared about ensuring each one of us in our cohort was successful in the program. They also offer a robust curriculum that prepares you with the fundamentals as well as languages such as Django, PostgreSQL, Flask, React, etc. We also always had TAs available to help us during class hours and after hours to ensure we weren't getting stuck on problems or issues. During the program they also setup Beyond Tech Talks and brought in employers to prepare us for topics we needed to know going into a tech career. Finally, their Career Services and Job Assistance also goes above and beyond as they incorporate several topics like behavioral interviews, technical interviews, job search best practices, etc to make sure we are prepared for job searching as soon as we complete the program. We also got to talk to employers like Google and DFR to learn about interviewing process best practices and what to expect in your first role. During the program they also set you up with a mentor and a volunteer resume coach to offer you additional support and resources. Code Platoon truly goes above and beyond to make sure their students are setup for success. As I stated above, this bootcamp is top notch and by far the best bootcamp out there for active duty military members and their families, as well as veterans and their families. I'm so grateful I was given the opportunity to complete this bootcamp. They also offer a variety of ways to pay for the program so you have flexibility. One challenge I faced was managing my time since I was still working in DOD, but they understood and always made themselves available.The course format is solid. They guide you on what’s coming up, and you get to build skills through hands on assignments.For anyone feeling stuck in their current career, I’d say think about where you want to be in 5 or 10 years. This program demands time and effort, but it’s an investment in yourself.
