When did you graduate from Coder Foundry?
I graduated on December 16th, 2022.
What inspired you to enroll at Coder Foundry?
I owned and operated a roofing company for about 5 years. When COVID happened, I felt the wrath of the economy and decided I needed to find a career that had very little down time. After some soul-searching and trying some different things, I came across a back end developer on Youtube. I watched his content for some time and decided that I could do it, too.
How difficult was the Coder Foundry application process?
Before I went into Coder Foundry, I had never written a single line of code and I told Bobby Davis (owner of Coder Foundry) that in the interview. He completely understood me and I'm sure there are plenty others on the same path I went.
However, to get into Coder Foundry, you do have to take a basic knowledge assessment. The assessment is not hard, but it is lengthy. My personal opinion is the reason Coder Foundry requires you to take that assessment is to weed out the people who don't want to dedicate their time to their craft. I'm sure there are plenty of applicants that get to the assessment and quit just because they don't have the willingness to work.
Where do you work now?
I'm currently in the process of securing a job. I only graduated just 3 weeks ago, but I have spoken to some companies — I’m trying to find the correct fit for me!
What is your advice to someone considering Coder Foundry?
Go for it. If it is something you are interested in, I would strongly suggest you act upon it NOW! The class is not easy, but if you stick with it, you will not believe how much you will learn in such a short amount of time.
There is nothing bad I can possibly say about Coder Foundry. I have recommended it to family and friends, because if you want a job as a developer this is the place to go.
Congrats, Travis! Want a chance to win the next sweepstakes? Write a verified review of your coding bootcamp experience!
