LaunchIT, a partnership of BAC and Codecraft Works, combines Codecraft Work’s STEM-based, blended learning approach with BAC’s experience in serving people with disabilities to provide solutions to two workplace challenges: filling entry-level Information Technology (IT) positions and increasing employment of people with disabilities. By completing this comprehensive, 24-week virtual program, people of varying abilities from all over the nation earn internationally-recognized certifications with the guidance of specialized mentors. Learning to be experts in their field, LaunchIT graduates enter the workplace with independence and confidence. Participants will choose between LaunchIT’s two tracks: Adult IT Support Professional Track or Adult Web Accessibility Professional Track.
LaunchIT also offers a 60-hour Youth program for Florida students between 14-21 years old with a 504 plan, IEP or Documented Diagnosis. LaunchIT is excited to offer this opportunity to students through a Florida Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) funded contract.
The Adult IT Support Professional Track includes training for CompTIA A+ and Security+ certification as well as Google IT Support Professional Certificate. The Adult IT Support Professional Track prepares students for tech roles, such as IT Support Technician, Help Desk Specialist, and IT Assistant.
The Adult Web Accessibility Professional Track includes the Codecraft Works Document Remediation Specialist Certificate, the IAAP Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies, the Codecraft Works Emerging Web Development Professional Certificate, and the Department of Homeland Security Trusted Tester Certification. The Adult Web Accessibility Professional Track prepares learners for roles, such as Accessibility Web Tester, Digital Accessibility Specialist, and Compliance Team Member.
LaunchIT’s program is designed for adults with unique abilities over 18 years old who are interested in an IT career. LaunchIT is approved for funding by Florida Vocational Rehabilitation and Connecticut Bureau of Rehabilitation Services.
Both tracks include BAC’s intensive support services that help participants build the soft skills necessary for workforce readiness. Participants will also receive career services, such as job search support, professional networking, and interview preparation.
