Who do you hope to serve through these scholarships?

Supporting our community in making change happen for themselves is what we do at Juno College. That’s why we’re dedicating over $400,000 towards this program. This scholarship is open to tech-savvy beginners, meaning if you have basic Excel/Google Sheets skills, you’ll likely be able to pass the Tech Challenge!

Why is 2022 a great time for someone to change careers into Data Analytics?

With the increasing popularity of e-commerce, data-driven decision-making, and companies going digital, the data industry is booming and shows no signs of slowing. Plus, the world will always need tech, so this industry’s not going anywhere!

As rapid innovation continues, The World Economic Forum and a 2019-2028 Trend Analysis from the Government of Canada both report that the demand for data analysts will increase across all industries in the 2020s. Analyst roles also make up half of Randstad’s latest Best IT and Tech Jobs list, which features 8 trending and in-demand jobs in 2022.

In other words, there’s never been a better time to dive into data!

What will Juno students learn in the Data Analytics Bootcamp?

Juno’s Data Analytics Bootcamp is a 12-week program that will give you the skills and support you need to become a data analyst, fast. Our curriculum is constantly evolving to ensure our students learn the most modern tools and languages in today’s data industry. Students will graduate with an impressive portfolio that features in-demand skills employers are looking for, including: Tableau, SQL, and Python libraries such as Pandas, Numpy, Seaborn, and Scikit-learn. Students will also learn resume-worthy soft skills from our comprehensive Career Services Curriculum, which runs alongside the Bootcamp Curriculum.

Who are the instructors for Juno’s Data Analytics Bootcamp?

You’ll be taught by data experts Kris Makuch, Wes Chorney, and Jennifer Seaton: the same dream team who led our inaugural Bootcamp. We survey our students each week to assess their satisfaction with our instructors, and for Cohort 1, this team received a 96% customer satisfaction score. Simply put, our instructors are superstars!

How does this bootcamp support different learning styles?

We designed our Data Analytics Bootcamp using the same secret recipe as our award-winning Web Development Bootcamp, which has helped over 1,000 students change careers since 2014. Our inaugural Data Analytics Bootcamp wrapped up in December with a 100% graduation rate and a 95% customer satisfaction score. In our classrooms, you’ll have a transformational learning experience — one that’s surprisingly fun! No matter your learning style or experience level, we have a diverse team of industry experts who make sure no one is left behind. We solicit feedback through weekly surveys so that we can continuously improve and tailor our programs to everyone’s unique learning needs.

We also pride ourselves in our commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in our programs. In 2021, we held a comprehensive EDI assessment with consulting firm Empowered, which included an action plan based on the findings. Based on a survey we conducted with our community, 89% of Juno’s students/alumni would recommend Juno to those from marginalized groups. At Juno, you're more than just a seat in our classroom — you're part of a supportive community. Here, you can be heard, be seen, and be yourself.

How does Juno prepare students for the job hunt? What kinds of career assistance can students expect?

Say hello to your own dedicated Career Coach! Our one-on-one, human-centered approach makes our Career Services team unlike any other. Their specialized support starts on week one, and doesn’t end until you land a job. You’ll graduate with the support and confidence you need to ace your job search.

Our comprehensive Career curriculum includes:

  • Weekly career workshops to improve your job search readiness
  • Weekly one-on-one coaching sessions
  • Resume and cover letter training and personalized feedback
  • Personal profile coaching to highlight your unique strengths
  • Networking with Juno’s hiring partners
  • Interview prep training and persuasive communication coaching
  • Offer negotiation and contract support
  • Lifelong support throughout your career

95% is the average customer satisfaction score of our Career Services since June 2021, and two of our graduates have already been hired as Data Analysts only one month after graduation. As the cohort continues their job search with our Career Services team this month, we know many more placements are to come!

What kinds of data roles do Juno’s Data Analytics Bootcamp students typically land?

Graduates will be prepared for jobs in tech like Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, Fraud Data Analyst, Marketing Data Analyst, Data Specialist, Junior Data Scientist, and more.

How do you expect the Career Booster Scholarship program to impact the community?

We’re excited for this scholarship program to launch the next generation of talented data analysts! In supporting those looking to make a change for themselves, it is our hope that we will play a part in filling the job market’s high demand for data professionals, as well as open doors for much-needed diverse voices and backgrounds to break into the data industry.
