The University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies Boot Camps offer a 12-week, full-time and 24-week, part-time web development program, 24-week, part-time programs in data analytics, cybersecurity, and UX/UI, and an 18-week, part-time program in digital marketing. The full stack curriculum includes HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, Express.js, Node.js, databases, MongoDB, MySQL, and Git.
The data curriculum includes programming in Excel, Python, R programming, JavaScript charting, HTML/CSS, API interactions, SQL, Tableau, fundamental statistics, machine learning, and more. Enjoy close collaboration with other professionals while receiving hands-on experience.
The cybersecurity curriculum offers hands-on training in networking, systems, web technologies, databases, and defensive and offensive cybersecurity.
The UX/UI program provides hands-on training in user-centric design research, design thinking, visual prototyping and wireframing, interface design, storyboarding, visual design theory, web prototyping with HTML5 and CSS, interaction design with JavaScript and jQuery, and more.
The digital marketing curriculum covers highly relevant skills, training students in marketing strategy fundamentals, optimizing campaigns and websites, digital advertising and automation strategy, and more. Students will get hands-on experience with tools such as Google Analytics, Facebook Ads Manager, and Wordpress.
Applicants do not need prior experience to enroll, but once admitted, all learners will complete a pre-course tutorial. UofT SCS Boot Camps are designed for working professionals and individuals who are actively pursuing a career change or advancement or looking to gain a new skill set.
Learners benefit from a wide range of career services to be positioned for success through program completion and beyond. Services include portfolio reviews, resume and social media profile support, high-impact career events, workshops, mock interviews, and one-on-one career coaching. On successful completion, learners will receive a non-credit Certificate of Completion from the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies (the boot camp is not a School of Continuing Studies certificate program) and will have a portfolio of projects demonstrating a working knowledge of web development, data analytics, cybersecurity, digital marketing, financial technology, or UX/UI.

Going into this curriculum, I have had some prior knowledge to web development however, I found after completing the boot camp, I knew so little. This boot camp was very fast paced and packed so much useful information. I learned so much in the past 6 months than I did tinkering by myself within a year and a half. I feel so much more confident now to enter the professional world of full stack development and I couldn’t be more proud of the progress I made in this bootcamp. I decided to pursue Digital Marketing Boot Camp while trying to set up in Canada, once it would be an opportunity to the Canadian experience. I have heard about this course before, but just after a referral I took my decision. It is crucial to spreading the word about the quality of UofT Boot Camps because people have to invest a good amount of money on it.

This course was very hard for those beginning in IT, but is very well worth it if you are interested in changing your career path. The six month were intense information intake which also require hands on experience and projects. Overall I really enjoyed the bootcamp. It went by so quickly and it was exactly what i expected it to be. I thought the support was great, they were always checking in and you really felt like they cared about your success.
three things that i wish could have been better.
1. I wish we had more time for the last group project and I think towards the end of the course it was very stressful to get all your assignments done a few days before the class ended as well as your group proje...Overall I really enjoyed the bootcamp. It went by so quickly and it was exactly what i expected it to be. I thought the support was great, they were always checking in and you really felt like they cared about your success.
three things that i wish could have been better.

I felt like in the end I was handing in subpar work for both my assignments as well as my group project. Maybe if we had until the end of the week to finish our assignments then i could have concentrated more on the group project.
2. I really liked the weekly overview emails i thought it was a great introduction of what to expect in the coming week. The articles were really great and helpful however during the Coding and in particular the UI section of the course it would have been nice to see curated tutorials that were relevant to what we were doing in class. The UI section was particularly hard for me and i felt very overwhelmed with the amount of tutorials online and i think it would have been useful to have some tutorials that the school recommended doing outside of class hours.

The Covid-19 pandemic led to changes in the financial industry and more specifically to the limited interaction between advisors and their clientele. With fifteen years of experience in the industry, I realized these changes were necessary and may be the way forward during and after the pandemic. My research on the best course of actions with regards to progressing and being relevant in the ever-changing world of financial planning led me to the U of T SCS Fintech Boot Camp.

My research on the best course of actions with regards to progressing and being relevant in the ever-changing world of financial planning led me to the U of T SCS Fintech Boot Camp.
The rich history of the University of Toronto coupled with the desired curriculum on financial technology was the deciding factor for what I considered to be great value for my time and money. My proper due diligence in deciding on the U of T SCS Fintech Boot Camp has been rewarded by a very well-run program, the resources on offer and an amazing support team, highlighted by the weekly efforts of the boot camp’s Instructor and his teaching assistants. During these testing times and the stress of work, it was an absolute joy to be introduced and taught the necessary details of an otherwise foreign topic, by the instructional team.
Considering this program, going through the application process and my enrollment has led to me being extremely satisfied and elated with the vast knowledge gathered so far. Furthermore, having absolutely no previous coding experience and only a basic working knowledge of a computer, I would advise any prospective student to simply have an open mind, a capacity to learn and a need to be advantageous over anyone else in their prospective industries when enrolling in the U of T SCS FinTech Boot Camp.
