Springboard is an online learning platform that prepares students for the tech industry’s most in-demand careers with comprehensive, mentor-led online programs in software engineering, data science, UI/UX design, cybersecurity, tech sales, and more. All Springboard courses are 100% online, remote, and self-paced throughout an average of 6-9 months. Springboard acts as a support system, coach, and cheerleader for working professionals who are ready to level-up or make a major career shift. Students have access to a unique community of industry mentors, thought leaders, and alumni, who are on hand to offer insights, networking opportunities, and support throughout the program and well past graduation. Every Springboard student is matched with a personal student advisor and industry mentor who guides them throughout the program through regular video calls.
To apply, applicants fill out an online form, take an aptitude test, then talk with a school representative about their background and motivations. For the data science career track a background in statistics and/or programming is required. For the UX career track, students should have academic or professional background in user design or development-oriented fields.
Before graduation, Springboard’s career services team supports students in their job search, helping prepare them for interviews and networking, and facilitates their transition into the tech industry. Springboard's programs are backed with a job guarantee.
Springboard’s support does not end when students graduate. All graduates benefit from an extensive support network encompassing career services, 1:1 career coaching, networking tips, resume assistance, interview prep, and salary negotiation. Since Springboard was founded in 2013, 94% of eligible graduates secured a job within one year, earning an average salary increase of $26,000.
Content was very helpful from various resources. Mentor was great and provided a ton of feedback/extra materials to learn from. Career coaching could be a little more knowledgable on specific regions/markets people are in. Very general advice for job search.
I took the Data Science career track, starting in March 2019. I did it while working full time, 4 months in a company and 4 months building my own company. The content is great but intense, as it is a mix of hands on projects and theory. There is a lot of content, and would recommend focusing on Springboard full time (not working aside) if you want to finish within 6 months. I asked for the 2 months additional time because I couldn't handle the amount of work. But it's absolutely worth the...

I had a great experience with the Springboard UX Career Track program! My mentor was the best part, she gave fantastic, targeted advice that really helped my projects. Be prepared to commit a lot of time to this program, but it is worth it!
I finished off the "intermediate Data Science with Python" course in September 2019. My background was a master's degree in operations research and an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering. My prior programming experience consisted only of MATLAB from my time in graduate school.
I highly recommend this course for someone with a background that is similar to mine who wishes to evaluate their interest in data science and machine learning. The "go at your own pace" approach...

I highly recommend this course for someone with a background that is similar to mine who wishes to evaluate their interest in data science and machine learning. The "go at your own pace" approach allows for students to take the time they need to fill in any gaps in their background and to really understand the course material before moving on. But at the same time, the weekly calls keep the student on track and motivated. I was quite happy with the guidance and supervision I received from my course mentor. The course material and assignments were well selected and the chronology that they were presented in works well also.
Student support was excellent. When I identified some issues with my first mentor that indicated a poor fit, student support reached out for a phone call, took the time to understand the situation and promptly assigned me to a new mentor.
Great course with great mentoring! They offer office hours too where you can join a call and ask questions to other workers to get more feedback and information. Definitely Reccoment the course!
I had a terrible experience working with Springboard for the user experience module. The mentors assigned to me, other than the one or two individuals i have worked with were disrespectful and were not considering the need to allow for students to pursue their civil liberties. The unjust interference in attempting to tell me that I should spend my time working on a project for the healthcare industry as opposed to working on something for the fashion industry is absolutely ridiculous and ...

The mentors assigned to me, other than the one or two individuals i have worked with were disrespectful and were not considering the need to allow for students to pursue their civil liberties. The unjust interference in attempting to tell me that I should spend my time working on a project for the healthcare industry as opposed to working on something for the fashion industry is absolutely ridiculous and uncalled for. It is unamerican, I have wasted so much of my time trying to work alongside someone who doesn’t see eye-to-eye with me when it comes to things that truly matter. Springboard’s mentor matching program seriously needs some major improvement and maybe even a variety of mentors spanning across various industries and sectors. Narrow-mindedness doesn’t help. Having already been exposed to UX material, I should have also been able to complete the course much earlier, but due to these conflicts with said mentor and attempting to work alongside and take guidance from someone whose values differ conflictingly from yours, it took me more than twice the amount of time to progress through the course. I could not complete the course due to these issues and having considered the fact that I’m paying $499 a month just to work alongside a conflictingly contrasting individual. It was totally unnecessary and I have most certainly asked for my full refund back for the course as I have dealt with absolute ridiculousness and have come out of the experience with no additional valuable UX mastery. Ridiculous.
The main positives to take from the course are the interactions with the mentor and the interview preps. Now I had a very hesitant mindset about applying for a bootcamp wondering whether I would be able to get employment considering I do not have a computer science degree or a STEM degree. I have a political science degree. I was told that these things do not matter and that you can easily land a job after you get both your projects done. Now I had a very hesitant mindset about applying for a bootcamp wondering whether I would be able to get employment considering I do not have a computer science degree or a STEM degree. I have a political science degree. I was told that these things do not matter and that you can easily land a job after you get both your projects done. I had done very detailed projects and posted them on github and did everything the career coaches suggested I do. Unfortunately not a single data science position had reached out to me.
Now for the curriculum. This was sadly most dissappointing. The course mainly revolves around data camp courses. And then these are supplemented by youtube lectures from Harvard or other institutions that would talk about the subject with the impression that you have intermediate knowledge of the subject matter, despite it being a beginners intro video to a concept. I have had much better success with the self study resources available on the internet, such as youtube tutorials etc. Also did two Udemy courses for 11 dollars each and got a better understanding of the subjects. There was no feel of an actual boot camp teaching you, they basically link you to external sources that arent theirs.
