I had a really good experience with the UX Design Bootcamp at BrainStation. Throughout the 12 week online bootcamp I met other aspiring UX Designers throughout North America. I was hesitant at first because I've never done online schooling before, but it turned out to be a great experience. The first two weeks were fairly chill, as they introduce you to UX but the remaining 10 weeks were quite intense. The educators in the BrainStation program are industry pros and knew the material they were teaching and worked hard to really make sure we were supported throughout the experience. The pace of the program was intense and if you want to do well, you have to put the work in, but the end product is worth it. Having a background in design definitely helps but the educators and support teams at BrainStation provide resources throughout for the content that was taught and the programs used throughout. We primarily used Figma for UI work. I would suggest the UX Design Bootcamp to anyone who's interested in UX and doesn't have any other commitments ongoing while taking the program.

The bootcamp was tough with a very steep learning curve. However, this enabled me to learn the broad spectrum of Data Science skills on both the theoretical and practical fronts. The bootcamp was catered to students with different level of experiences with some of us who had no previous coding experience (including myself). The bootcamp was tough with a very steep learning curve. However, this enabled me to learn the broad spectrum of Data Science skills on both the theoretical and practical fronts. The bootcamp was catered to students with different level of experiences with some of us who had no previous coding experience (including myself). The weekly projects provide a good practice for the theoretical learning and an industry led 24 hour Hackathon gives interdisciplinary working experience (where you design a concept with UX Design, Web Development and Data Analysis students). The job support is ongoing even after the educational aspect of the bootcamp ends, with regular online meetings to chart progress and keep students motivated while assisting them with CV reviews and interview prep if required. In 3 words I would describe the bootcamp as "Tough but Effective".

BrainStation was an amazing experience! With direct and indirect support I was able to grasp a lot of concepts and knowledge that would have been difficult otherwise. Learning the technical skills is just part of the BrainStation experience, there is a whole other curriculum centred around becoming a professional in the industry. 12-week Bootcamp covers the UX and UI foundations. There was a good range of all things within the UXD discipline from research to strategy to prototyping. It's a good program to give the foundations you would need to become a junior UX Designer. I would have preferred a more in-depth design theory focus than we received though. A key thing to know is that whether or not you find a role after the Bootcamp ends is heavily dependent on whether or not you're willing to keep applying for rol...
12-week Bootcamp covers the UX and UI foundations. There was a good range of all things within the UXD discipline from research to strategy to prototyping. A key thing to know is that whether or not you find a role after the Bootcamp ends is heavily dependent on whether or not you're willing to keep applying for roles, networking with other designers, and improving on your portfolio. The career success team is super helpful after the Bootcamp but their job isn't to do the work for you.

As somebody who has decided to change their career path, I think that this UI Design Bootcamp was exactly what I needed. Coming in I had only a vague idea about UI Design, but I was given the tools I needed to actually start working on my own portfolio. I appreciate Max and Tamira sharing their professional experience with us and always being responsive when I had questions outside of the class hours.
